August 20, 2000:

Augh! Okay, it's literally been a year-and-a-half since this page has been updated, but I'm back, and with a vengance. Round Two of Cameo is in full force, with the release of 10 new cameras on August 8th, and 10 more to be released this week.

Of the first ten, Bob, Emily, and Rick, have already made it back! Bob and Emily's pictures have been scanned, and Rick will be back from the developer on Tuesday. Also, Mercury which came back in February of '98, will also be put online.

For obvious reasons, I'm revamping this site, and the full refresh will coincide with the publishing of the three cameras on Friday, August 25th.

If you want an email update when these and forthcoming cameras are put online, enter your email address here:

January 12, 1999:

New word on Jupiter! Unseen since its release in Florence, Italy, last November, Jupiter has been reported in Seattle, Washington! So far four pictures have been taken with Jupiter, and the current holders will be passing it on soon. Check back soon for more details, or better yet, sign up to the announcement list!

January 11, 1999:

Happy New Year! -- We've been informed that Mercury is on its way back, and we'll be posting the pictures on the new site next week! Also in news, we're preparing another shipment of cameras. Add your name to the mailing list if you're interested in being the first photographer on one of the new cameras. We'll send instructions on signing up to the mailing list later this week! Also, late word on Venus and Sol: Both cameras have (tsk, tsk!) been tracked down to the original recipients. Neither of them have passed along their cameras yet, but they will in the next few days, so don't count these cameras out yet!

December 29, 1998:

We've set up an email list for letting people know when new cameras arrive and are on the site! To sign up, type in your email address at the bottom of the page, and we'll drop you a line! We won't give the address to anyone else and you can be removed at any time.

December 21, 1998:

We're working on version 1.0 (you're looking at v0.1) of the site. The first real version, with realtime tracking of the cameras, a real look and feel instead of a simple text page, and the first round of press, will take place in early January. The initial rollout on the new server should take place next week, with a lot more detail, and dispersion of another twenty cameras, on January 27.

December 19, 1998:

We're currently working on a registration form so you can type in your email address to be notified when cameras come in. We promise we won't give the address to anyone else. Until then (it should be up in a few days), feel free to mail us and we'll put your name on the list!

December 18, 1998:

Mercury has been sighted twice, once by someone who got it from someone who found it at Disneyland, and again a few days later by someone who got it on a chair lift at Wrightwood Ski Resort in Hesperia, California. It has only two pictures left on it now, and should be back soon. We also got a report today from someone in Pittsburg, Pensylvania, who claims to have seen one, but isn't sure which one.

If you've had a cameo sighting, tell me about it!
